We are actively recruiting talent to collaborate on this project. We are looking for story boarders, sound track techs, non-linear video editors, 3D animators, modelers and texture specialists. We need voice actors, sound effects geeks, and cinematographers--all willing to commit time and energy where the payoff depends solely on how much they put in, and the realization of the finished project. There are no guarantees of money or fame, although I believe that both are commensurate with commitment and the desire to succeed. Great things are accomplished when the right people get on board. So, what does it take to create a timeless post-apocalyptic animated epic film? Not as much as one might think. Mainly one just has to believe in his or her dream enough to go the distance. This page is dedicated to the production of a truly artistic form of post-apocalyptic animated fantasy, and the bringing to fruition that dream.Shaturanga was a concept piece designed to be easily adapted into a movie. I had animation in mind, mainly because of the headaches associated with doing a live-actor rendition. With animation you don't need logistics, permits, actors, or locations. All you need is imagination, right? Okay, maybe a few thousand dollars worth of equipment would help.
So, what do I know about producing animated films? Well, I don't want to compare myself to the greats of storytelling, but I want to follow in the footsteps of folks like George Lucas, George Miller (The Road Warrior), and Stanley Kubrik, and I have already put in a lot of hours studying their approach to the craft and have a firm grasp of what they did to make their marks in the annals of movie history. I want to take it to the next level. I'm also smart enough to recruit people who are smarter than me. Not only will Shaturanga be a ground-breaking animated film, it will be one of the few feature-length films ever posted for free (legally) over the internet.
Taking that and plugging it in to what I've researched about script-to-screen development, I have enough confidence that the movie is well within reach. Be part of our team where the boldest moves are sometimes the best. All contributions are welcome. For more info contact Brian Snelson at apocalypseanimation.com.
